The Americana Band created a special Boston concert to entertain visitors to the Democratic National Convention of 2004 and to benefit after school programs in Boston area. This performance puts a contemporary spin on great songs from our American cultural heritage and is laced with original humorous songs about Boston . The goal is to entertain audiences of all ages and to create indelible memories of our city.

The Americana Band is a professional 9-piece ensemble that fuses American swing, bluegrass, rock and folk music. It has performed at Sail Boston 2000, Strides Against Breast Cancer at the Hatch Shell, the USS Constitution Bicentennial Salute, and the Museum of Fine Arts . The band showcases some of Boston 's finest musicians including faculty, alumni, and overseers of the Berklee College of Music and the New England Conservatory. The band has released award-winning CDs and has been featured on WBZ, the FX Channel and local cable television.

The Boston concert features amusing Boston songs such as "Charlie on the MTA" and "I Want the Seafood Mama" plus Americana Band originals like "The Big Dig", "Boston Tea Party" and "Paul Revere's Ride". It appeals to intergenerational audiences from around the USA with songs like "Abba Dabba Honeymoon", "Jambalaya", "Choo Choo Cha Boogie", "Hound Dog", "Mack the Knife", "The Joint is Jumpin'" and "Stewball".
